Our classes provide an opportunity to deepen our connection both to ourselves, and the local community. We warmly welcome newbies to our classes.
Lisa is passionate about making ancient yoga techniques accessible and relevant in today’s world. You don’t have to understand all the yogic terms to benefit from a yoga practice.
Lisa encourages you to work at your own pace, learn how to listen to your body, and how to personalise your practice to suit the unique individual you are. The classes include meditation, relaxation, breathing exercises (pranayama), along with chanting, mantra and singing bowls. Lisa also shares useful practical and relevant advice from ancient wisdom traditions.
Her classes help you to become flexible, strong and calm, naturally bringing you closer to your true self.
“
The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.

A typical SunYoga class begins on the floor, connecting deeply with breath and body, gently warming and mobilising the spine and major joints. We then move into stretching and strengthening yoga postures, and wind down with some slower practices, including guided relaxation, yoga breathing and/or meditation and chanting (if you wish to join in).
Each new student will have a small discussion with Lisa on arrival, so that she can suggest any adjustments you may need to make to suit your individual needs (such as minor and past injuries).
Yoga is essential self care. Lisa will also give you take-home tips to nourish your body and focus your mind, ultimately supporting your relationships at work and at home.
Classes run during school terms. All levels and abilities are welcome and you can start anytime! See our news page for full details and dates of the current term.

Wear stretchy, exercise clothes that are comfortable and modest, this is for everybody’s comfort! Layers work well so you adjust as your body temperature changes. Please don’t wear strong scents/after shave or sharp jewellery. Yoga is done without shoes so have clean feet and bring socks if the weather is cool.
If you are experiencing chronic or acute spinal issues then I advise consulting with an appropriate health professional before starting classes. My classes are gentle; each class begins with therapeutic, mobilising movements, which are beneficial for the general health of your spine. In most cases, participating in my classes combined with common sense, your commitment to working safely, and keeping me informed with any changes in your back issues, we can work together to improve your back issues.
Yes, and if you are new to yoga then I recommend you wait until after the first trimester and consult an appropriate health professional before commencing yoga. As your pregnancy develops we can work together to ensure a safe and beneficial yoga practice through each stage of development.
This is an open practice that doesn’t subscribe to any religion or dogma. People of all faiths are welcome.
SunYoga classes are a combination of gentle Hatha Yoga and other complementary practices, that integrate the yoga practices of postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), meditation and relaxation. I guide the student to slow down, tune in and develop awareness of the unique needs of their body, mind and heart. No two classes are ever the same; I respond to the student’s individual needs on the day, the cycle of the seasons, and incorporate my ongoing yogic studies.
We are all shapes and sizes, from all walks of life. Some of us are new to yoga, some have been practising for years, and we are all ages: from 18 – 80.
For your digestive comfort I recommend to eat at least two hours before you come to class.
